SKYPE VISITS OR SCHOOL VISITS
Are you interested in having me come talk to your school, either in-person or via Skype? I get that Montana’s a little far away from most places, so if a visit doesn’t work, I’d love to Skype with your class!
I am currently actively building my visit list for 2022! Email me at susan @ susanadrian.net for more details.
FOREVER NEVERLAND is a fantasy about Peter Pan, with mermaids, pixies, Greek gods, and sea monsters. One of the main characters is autistic, and I can talk about how Fergus and Clover are different, and how I made sure I got the autistic representation right. In my books, Neverland is made up of creatures from the home of visitors. I will ask kids to figure out what their Neverland would look like!
NUTCRACKED is a middle-grade fantasy adventure with ballet and magic, and a perfect option for a lively and interactive discussion with kids. I talk about my own experience with dancing (I was Clara!), the ballet, and ask the kids to help me create their own Land of Sweets populated by candy. NUTCRACKED was a Montana Book Award Honor Book. The paperback edition is coming out October 1!
TUNNEL VISION was nominated as a 2016 YALSA Quick Pick for Reluctant Young Readers and the South Carolina Young Adult Book Award, and was a Montana Book Award Honor Book. TUNNEL VISION and the sequel, THE DARK AT THE END, are a great choice for high school discussion.
